Document Description
This project will replace an existing non-ADA compliant comfort station with a new comfort station building of similar size, to improve access for visitors with disabilities. Specifically, the project will:
Demolish the existing combo building and replace with code compliant structure with 3 showers and 4 toilet stalls. Provide concrete accessible parking space, aggregate base 15-minute parking space, and repave the campground road in front of the restroom.
The geotechnical investigation will consist of 2 borings. The borings will be 6 inches in diameter and approximately 15 to 25 feet deep using a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with an auger. The borings will be backfilled with neat cement grout.
After demolishing the existing combo building, the project will construct an approximately 700 SF structure with batten board siding and clerestory windows. A concrete accessible parking spot will be constructed (approx. 300 SF), along with concrete flatwork around the building. All utility connections are in immediate proximity to the proposed building. The asphalt in front of the building will be repaved (approx. 1,700 SF).
