Document Description
The El Dorado Irrigation District (District) adopted an updated Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP). The UWMP is a requirement of the Urban Water Management Planning Act, which requires urban water suppliers serving over 3,000 customers or supplying at least 3. 000 acre-feet of water annually to prepare and adopt an urban water management plan every five years and demonstrate water supply reliability in anormal year, single dry year, and droughts lasting at least five years over a twenty-year planning horizon. The UWMPA also requires each urban water supplier to prepare a drought risk assessment and water shortage contingency plan. The UWMP will provide the District's elected officials, management. staff, and customers with an understanding of past, current, and future water conditions and management. The UWMP integrates local and regional land use planning, regional water supply, infrastructure, and demand management projects. as well as providing for statewide challenges that may manifest through evolving regulations.
