Document Description
The proposed Unified Hospital Communications (UHC speakers) project would assess existing firestopping, UL assemblies, and repair / replace the damaged or non-compliant firestopping and/or UL assembly to restore the appropriate fire-rating at the penetration per the plans. Additionally, the scope of this project will encompass tracing the UHC Speaker Cat6 cable back to the switch in the IDF and repairing/ replacing the firestopping / UL assembly to restore the appropriate fire-rating at the penetration per the plans. The proposed project includes housing and dining units in eight (8) buildings on the Coalinga State Hospital campus.
The project will restore hourly fire-resistance rating of walls, floors, or other fire-resistant assemblies that have been breached by penetrations will be restored to match with the rating at the time of the building(s) construction or as specified in the plans to meet current code.
The State Fire Marshall will review/approve work plans, issue permits, and inspect final work.
