Document Description
An approximately 1,600 square foot volunteer led garden in the upland area of Locke Paddon Park on City property, adjacent to the existing library parking lot. The sensory garden would contain a flower and vegetable garden and a variety of small scale amenities intended to encourage curiosity, inquiry, and environmental literacy. The garden plant arrangements in the garden may evolve over time. Example amenities include electrical service, water for gardening and interactive features, a mud kitchen, benches and chairs, and natural play features such as stumps or boulders.

The project consists of a garden with play features and limited supporting infrastructure within an existing City park. The garden is located in an area of the park that consists of grasses and a bench, and is not in proximity to any sensitive habitat areas. These minor improvements would change the nature of the use, andand none of the exceptions to the categorical exemptions from CEQA Guidelines section 15300.2 apply to the project.
