Document Description
The proposed project is located on SR-39 on the Bolsa-Oceanview-Trask 66kV transmission line in the City of Huntington Beach, Orange County, California. The proposed project consists of the replacement of a transmission pole. The existing and replacement poles have an above ground-level height of 75 feet. The proposed project is located along the western side of Beach Boulevard, approximately 35 feet north of Elmore Way and 623 ft south of Pine Street. Ground disturbance for the pole replacement includes installing a new pole in the same location as the existing pole (same-hole-set). The pole installation will create a hole measuring approximately 2-3 feet in diameter by 6-9 feet deep. The pole is accessible by truck. Traffic and pedestrian control may be required.

Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The types of "existing facilities" itemized below are not intended to be all-inclusive of the types of projects which might fall within Class 1. The key consideration is whether the project involves negligible or no expansion of use. (c) Existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities (this includes road grading for the purpose of public safety, and other alterations such as the addition of bicycle facilities, including but not limited to bicycle parking, bicycle-share facilities and bicycle lanes, transit improvements such as bus lanes, pedestrian crossings, street trees, and other similar alterations that do not create additional automobile lanes).
