Victorville Police Department and Civic Park Project

The proposed project includes the construction of a new 54,892-square-foot, single-story police station with associated landscaping, surface parking, and utility improvements, as well as a new 1,173 square foot, single-story plaza building, a 1,832 stage, and 3.3-acre civic park on a 9.18-acre site located at the northwest corner of Seneca Road and Civic Drive in the City of Victorville. Additionally, the proposed project would require a Specific Plan Amendment (SPA) to the Civic Center Specific Plan to conditionally allow for government uses in the Specific Plan’s Civic Mixed Land Use Category. The proposed project is intended to address the City of Victorville's growing public safety needs in response to increasing demand for police services. The existing police station, located at 14200 Amargosa Road, was constructed in 2001 and occupies 15,828 square feet. At the time of construction, the station served a population of 67,854 residents with a staff of 57 sworn officers. However, the City's population has since grown to approximately 140,721, and the number of sworn officers has increased to 103, resulting in space constraints within the existing facility.
