Document Description
The El Dorado Irrigation District (District) proposes to install a new power pole to maintain service at the Rancho Poderosa Lift Station facility. The District needs to install the new power pole adjacent to the existing pole to allow PG&E to install a new service to the main disconnect of the facility to maintain service. The existing pole will remain and the existing disconnect box will be repurposed to serve as the distribution box.
A contractor will install the new pole within the existing public utility easement by drilling into the ground using an auger attachment on a skid steer approximately 10 feet from the existing facility. District staff will then install the new equipment and associated above ground conduit to the existing disconnect box. No trenching or other ground disturbance is anticipated for completing the project. Additionally, no vegetation removal or traffic control will be required at this site.
The equipment used for the project would include a skid steer with attachments for drilling and pole placement, crew trucks, hand tools, and small power tools. Work activities are scheduled to begin in June of 2026. The project is anticipated to take approximately two weeks, occurring Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
