Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Sections 15301,15303,15304,15311,15323
Reasons for Exemption
The event is categorically exempt under Sections 15301, 15303, 15304, 15311, and 15323 of the CEQA Guidelines. The event would take place in the existing Annenberg Beach House and would not result in any expansion of the use of the building and therefore is exempt under Section 15301 (Class 1 Existing Facilities). Additionally the event would include the installation of temporary equipment and facilities (such as tents, signage, canopies) and therefore is exempt under Sections 15303 (New Construction of Small Structures) and 15311 (Class 11 Accessory Structures). Furthermore, the event is exempt under Section 15323 (Class 23 Normal Operations of Existing Facilities for Public Gathering) since the event would occur in the existing beach house, which has historically been used for public gathering events.
