Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a maintenance project in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced Counties at 23 locations along State Route (SR) 4 and 99, and Interstate (I) 5. Please see below for location information. The scope of work consists of installing wrong-way driver preventative counter measures such as installing wrong way flashing sign systems, installing guardrail systems, removing and replacing striping, pavement markers, and slurry seal. All work will be done within Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of this project is to implement wrong-way driver preventative countermeasures. The project is needed to proactively mitigate wrong-way driving risks.
