Document Description
Project proposes to undertake target fuel reduction and vegetation management activities in the Angels Branch and Western Gulch areas located north and west of Railtown 1897 State Historic Park to reduce the wildfire risk to the park and its historic resources. The following work will occur:
In the Angels Branch Area:
• Clear brush and understory along 1,000 feet of track;
• Maintain a 10-foot defensible space along the same tracks; and
• Prune low branches and remove dead wood/trees adjacent to the tracks.
In the Western Gulch Area:
• Remove accumulated debris and invasive species and selectively thin vegetation to reduce ladder fuels along a 400-foot alignment.
