Document Description
The Stanley Wakefield Wilderness Area Pollinator Habitat Project will create additional pollinator habitat at the site to benefit native pollinators and beneficial insects. The East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District in collaboration with Cramer Fish Sciences, has completed salmon restoration projects on the Stanislaus River along the park in the past. This additional native species planting will enhance habitat already present. The East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District will be working directly with Cramer Fish Sciences and City of Oakdale on this project.

Reasons for Exemption
This project focuses on planting native species to enhance habitat for pollinators at the site. The implementation of native plants will include dispersed planting throughout a targeted 0.34 acres of the park, well below 5 acres. There will be no adverse impacts to threatened or endangered species, and the project will not impact or disrupt surrounding land use or public use of the park. Additionally, the project will be implemented with hand labor and will not use mechanized equipment.
