Document Description
The urgent work performed at Broadway Channel was to stabilize the side slopes and protect them against further erosion issues. Flood control initiated a task order with Summit Erosion Control to install erosion control Best Management Practices (BMP) at the eroding site. Gravel filled burlap bags and erosion control jute blankets were placed. The gravel bags were placed in a stacking fashion to fill in the voids along the bank/side slopes of the channel and then covered / wrapped with an erosion control jute matting/blanket. The gravel bags and jute blankets are not permanent fill and were selected because of their removable and temporary nature.
