Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number LAK-63785-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Lake County Public Works, as represented by Lars Ewing.
The project is limited to the installation of two 8-foot by 40-foot floating docks and two 8-inch diameter pilings. The floats will be attached to an existing dock structure and will be secured by the newly installed pilings. The two new 8-inch diameter pilings will be installed using a free-fall hammer on a steel barge. No trees or vegetation will be removed for this project.

Reasons for Exemption
On May 4, 2026, the Lake County Community Development Department, the Lead Agency, determined that the Project is categorically exempt pursuant to California Code of Regulations, Title 14, section 15301 and 15303. The Lead Agency determined that the Project meets certain qualifying criteria for the exemption. Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21080.1(a), the Lead Agency is responsible for determining whether the Project is exempt from CEQA and that determination shall be final and conclusive on all persons, including Responsible Agencies. As a result, CDFW, acting as a Responsible Agency, is bound by the Lead Agency’s determination that the Project is exempt from CEQA.
