Document Description
The purpose of this project is to install and maintain a new permanent surface water gage in Redwood Creek near Redway, California. The gage station would collect and transmit real-time stream stage, discharge, and water temperature data for public access on the California Data Exchange Center (CDEC).
The project activities involve installation of:
• one steel pole, approximately 2 inches in diameter, driven into the ground outside of the active channel,
• an equipment enclosure to house a data logger, battery, radio equipment and solar panel,
• conduit from the enclosure to monitoring equipment,
• A staff gage and radar water level sensor affixed to the existing bridge structure, and
• a water temperature sensor.
Installation activities would involve minor ground disturbance and attachment of monitoring equipment to the existing bridge. No vegetation removal, in-channel excavation, tree removal, or expansion of the bridge or roadway would occur.
