The Class 1 Categorical Exemption consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The Port will issue a Level I HDP for minor alteration of existing structures consisting of the installation of a Megawatt Charging Station (MCS) with two dispensers and associated electrical equipment, including an outdoor-rated panelboard and site controller. The MCS will be installed within an existing heavy-duty truck charging station depot involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use.

The project involves installation of a MCS with two dispensers and associated electrical equipment, including an outdoor-rated panelboard and site controller within an existing charging station depot.

Examples include, but are not limited to: (f) trenching and backfilling where the surface is restored. The project would involve minor trenching to install electrical conduit and backfilled where the surface is restored.
