Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 1 - 15301 Existing Facilities
Reasons for Exemption
The Class 1 exemption allows for the repair, maintenance, and minor alterations to existing public structures, facilities, and mechanical equipment where there is negligible or no expansion of use. Building 199 is part of the Napa State Hospital, a historic era facility which has been evaluated for eligibility for listing as a historical resource and subsequently reviewed by the California Office of Historic Preservation. The State confirms that Building 199 is not part of the historic district, nor is it eligible for listing as a historical resource. The State confirms that no exceptions apply which would preclude the use of an exemption for this project.
