Document Description

The project also includes demolition, grading, concrete foundations, repairs to existing ramps, pedestrian safety striping, shade structures, new concrete pads, and associated infrastructure to connect path of travel from bus stops to building entrances.

Reasons for Exemption
CEQA Section 15303 applies to construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures and installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures. The proposed bus stops with benches and shelters constitute new public facilities. The bus stops are limited in number to three (3) and are small in size. Section 15304 covers minor alterations to land including grading (<10% slope), minor trenching and backfilling where the surface is restored, and installation of concrete pads, sidewalk repairs, ramp work, and associated striping. Patton SH is a historic
era facility which has been evaluated and determined not eligible for listing as a historic resource, and the determination concurred with by the State Historic Preservation Office. The State has confirmed no exceptions to the exemption apply.
