Document Description
The purpose of this project is to preserve, repair and extend the service life of the existing pavement while improving safety, reliability, and rideability through SR-49 within the project limits. The project will also restore and extend the useful life of existing drainage systems to mitigate flooding; better prolong the service life of roadbeds; construct pedestrian facility, highway signage, traffic management system, and safety element improvements: provide wildlife habitat connectivity and reduce wildlife mortality within the project limits.

Reasons for Exemption
This project is exempt under class 1 PRC 21084 Title 14 CCR, 15301 (c), because the Scope of work includes to repair, maintaining and addressing the service life of existing pavement and drainage systems. This project would not have expansion of use for pavement and drainage facilities and the project would only lengthen the existing right-of-way fencing for wildlife crossing safety and reduction of wildlife vehicle collisions which results in a negligible addition to facilities on SR-49.
