Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) per Section 15301 Class 1 of the CEQA Regulations in which the minor alteration of existing public or private structures or facilities involve negligible or no expansion of existing use. This project involves the upgrading of audio and visual equipment in the operator’s room such as monitors, cameras, camera control, digital audio mixer, wireless microphone systems with antennas, keyboard mouse, tabletop touch panel and equipment rack with cable tray for amplifiers and other telecommunication data equipment with 10-ton HVAC for cooling of equipment and air conditioning of rest of Announcer Booth and replacement of door and windows. Upgrades to video displays throughout arena along with air circulation fans. Work also included the removal and replacement of existing light throughout the arena and upgrading of video surveillance system. The project does not result in an expansion of the use, as the arena is not being expanded, it’s simply routine maintenance work.
