Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project has been found to be categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act because it has been determined to be Categorically Exempt pursuant to Section 15301 (c). Existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities (this includes road grading for the purpose of public safety), and other alterations such as the addition of bicycle facilities, and pedestrian crossings that do not create additional automobile lanes. This project involves minor concrete and asphalt alterations of street crossings, sidewalk, and curbs to improve pedestrian facilities to address ADA compliance within the public right-of-way.
