Document Description
The County of Tulare Animal Services Department is expanding the kennel capacity to support increased demand for animal services. An addition 48 dog kennels will be added to the existing animal services facility. The additional kennel space will allow for increased opportunity for animal adoption. The new kennels will be constructed within the footprint of the existing animal services facility. The beneficiaries of the project are the community and animals by increasing the capacity to care for abandoned animals and allowing for adoption placement.

This action is consistent with Section 15301 Class 1, Existing Facilities, operation, repair maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features; in this instance, the upgrades to kennels with the features noted earlier. Therefore, the submission of CEQA Section 15301 is applicable and appropriate for this project.
