Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of repair and maintenance of existing public facilities involving no expansion of existing uses and minor alterations to land. The maintenance activity involves resurfacing, repair, and improvement of an existing arterial street and the creation of new bicycle lanes. (Class 1 and Class 4 exemptions). The streets where work is provided are not designated scenic highway and the maintenance activity is not a successive activity that will cause cumulative effects, nor will is cause effects due to unusual circumstances. The project areas are not located within a hazardous waste site, nor within an area designated as an environmental resource of hazardous or critical concern. The project will not cause a substantial change in the significance of an historic resource.
