Document Description
To authorize a section of an existing electrical transmission line that includes fourteen
power poles and their respective overhead lines that runs along the Reclamation District No. 1001 (RD 1001) Natomas Cross Canal right bank levee, with the northernmost pole on the waterside levee crown and the other thirteen poles along the landside levee toe. The encroachments were installed prior to the Central Valley Flood Protection Board (Board) adopting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento River Flood Control Project, Unit No. 142 in June 1959. Pacific Gas & Electric has provided a Grant of Right-of-Way that references the existing electrical transmission line alignment, dated August 2, 1906.

The project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 1, Existing Facilities categorical exemption (California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15301), because the activity consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical
equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use. No expansion of existing or former use will occur. Further, none of the exceptions to the exemption in California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15300.2 apply.
