Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed
Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-TEH-63861-R1I, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Paskenta Community Services District.
The project is limited to the annual augmentation of an existing gravel bar along the western bank of Thomes Creek in order to maintain the low-flow channel’s course over the infiltration gallery, which serves as the intake for the Paskenta Community Services District water conveyance system. A single tractor with a scraping blade (or similar equipment) will be used to remove gravel from atop the infiltration gallery and orient the gravel into a bar along the west bank. The borrow area atop the infiltration gallery is approximately 100 feet wide with the length of the borrow area and resultant gravel bar being approximately 300 feet long. The gravel bar will be augmented to a height of approximately 5-feet above the thalweg elevation. This configuration will allow the low flow channel to remain at its present course east of the gravel bar and prevent it from migrating away from the infiltration gallery. In addition, while conducting the gravel bar augmentation, the Permittee may carry out
activities to inspect, repair and maintain the infiltration gallery in an as-built condition.
