Document Description
The proposed project will replace portions of old barbed wire perimeter fence, totaling approximately 8,200 linear feet, with modern 5 strand barbed wire fencing. Large portions of the existing fence line are in poor condition, with rotting wood posts, damaged barbed wire, and corners that a not adequately anchored. Approximately 5,400 linear feet will be direct replacement along the existing fence alignment. In the northwest corner of the airfield approx. 1000 LF of fence line will be moved in, to avoid floodplain and potential wetland impacts along the existing alignment. On the northwest fence line, the proposed project would relocate approximately 1,800 feet of the existing fence towards the adjacent airport perimeter road. This new alignment will create a path for walking or biking outside the airport fence, connecting Wye Rd. to Airport Rd. The new fence will be installed within the footprint of the existing dirt road.
