Document Description
The proposed project consists of vegetation management and fuel reduction activities within the existing Madera County roadway right-of-way along Dorstan Road, Ponderosa Way, South Ponderosa Way, and Bridge Road. Project implementation is anticipated to begin on or after May 30, 2026, and will be completed by November 2026. Activities will occur within previously disturbed and maintained roadway corridors and will include selective pruning and removal of vegetation to reduce hazardous wildfire fuels and improve emergency access and evacuation routes. Treatment methods will consist of hand crews and/or light equipment to perform limbing of trees, removal of ladder fuels, and reduction of understory vegetation.

The project consists of minor vegetation management within an existing disturbed roadway right-of-way and includes no ground disturbance, no expansion of use, and no significant environmental impacts. The project has been reviewed for exceptions pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2, and none apply.
