Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-TRI-65657-R1, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Paul Arey.
The project is limited to annual removal of up to 250 cubic yards of overburden gravel material from dry gravel bars above the low flow channel in two locations. Project-related activities will occur along Hayfork Creek where it bisects the subject parcel. Overburden material will be extracted by skimming off the top of gravel bars with heavy equipment such as a loader. There will be no removal of healthy, mature, native or scenic trees as a result of the project. Any invasive species will be removed as feasible. The natural gradient, contour, and meander of the stream channel will be followed, and no depressions will be created that allow for the ponding of water. The gradient will be maintained in such a way that water will run in the low flow channel. Ingress and egress locations will be at the existing ingress from Hyampom Shop Road and will stay above the hardpan level. Ingress and egress banks will be maintained using skimmed material to ensure bank stability. Stockpiles will be located a minimum of 150 feet from the active channel and will be removed immediately after extraction activities cease each season. Stockpile areas will be graded and smoothed to match the existing landscape.
