Document Description
The proposed project includes sand replenishment of 13,500 cubic yards (CY) of clean beach quality compatible sand material from the LaPeyre Quarry in San Juan Capistrano to be placed along a 550 linear foot section (approximately 1.4-acre area) in the north reach of Capistrano Beach County Park in the City of Dana Point. The sand placement will occur primarily above the mean high tide line with limited placement of ~2,000 CY below the mean high tide line. One track-mounted dozer and one track-mounted loader will be used to spread the sand over the footprint of the north reach and the existing cobble beach. Imported sand will also be placed as a layer over the existing plastic wrapped sand cubes along the back beach with a 5:1 slope headed down to the water. The project is estimated to require approximately 900 truck trips (15-20 CY per trip) with sand replenishment anticipated to occm within 5 weeks in Spring 2026.
