Document Description
The Department of Fish and Wildlife is issuing a permit to SEACAMP San Diego pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 2081(a) for educational purposes. The Section 2081(a) permit authorizes the applicant to take steelhead trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) during the course of sampling, subject to terms and conditions set forth in the permit. The purpose of this sampling is for the SEACAMP San Diego’s classroom activities and collections of nearshore marine species. Steelhead trout are not targeted for take, and take of this species is unlikely, the Section 2081(a) permit authorizes the applicant to potentially capture steelhead trout during sampling. The applicant will conduct yearround educational collection of nearshore marine species through the use of bottom trawl, beach seine, hook & line – squid jig, and hook & line – unbaited shrimp fly through December 31, 2029.
