Document Description
The County of San Diego Department of Public Works proposes to conduct essential flood control culvert maintenance at the location: Paseo Grande. Maintenance activities include culvert cleaning, clearing and grubbing, installation of cured-in-place pipe liners and post-construction closed-circuit television inspection. All work will occur within existing culvert footprints, and no increase in culvert capacity or change in function will result from the proposed maintenance.

Reasons for Exemption
Section 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines provides that a project is exempt from CEQA review that applies to the operation, repair, maintenance, and minor alteration of existing facilities. This project consists of work involving the repair and rehabilitation of existing culverts with no expansion of capacity or change in use. All activities are limited to the existing culvert footprints and will result in negligible or no expansion of existing use. Therefore, the projects are categorically exempt pursuant to Section 15301.
