Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Article 19 Categorical Exemptions, Section 15306 states that "basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource..." are exempt from CEQA. The proposed Project is needed for information collection and gathering to assist with the evaluation of groundwater that could potentially be used to meet the City's current and future demands. One test hole would be drilled and ground disturbance would be minimal. No exceptions were identi?ed. Therefore, the Project is exempt under CEQA.
