Document Description
This project will address infrastructure concerns by allowing for easier access to valves during routine and emergency maintenance and updating existing infrastructure. Construction activities will include installing concrete vaults around existing buried isolation valves and updating existing valves and cathodic protection. This project will also include acquisition of an easement for existing infrastructure from the state. Asphalt, concrete, concrete curbs and gutters affected during construction will be replaced and returned to pre-construction conditions.

The work activities consist of installation/replacement of existing valves and structural improvements to existing facilities involving negligible or no expansion. Project activities will replace valves that will be located on the same site and have substantially the same purpose as the existing valves. Maintenance and replacement of existing facilities and construction of new small structures are specifically categorically exempted from CEQA per the Water Authority's Administrative Code implementing CEQA [§8.00.060(a)1(i and iv); §8.00.060(a)2(i); §8.00.060(a)3(i); §8.00.060(a)4(iv)].
