Document Description
The City is proposing a comprehensive update to the 2003 General Plan/Coastal Land Use Plan to maintain compliance with the California Coastal Act and California general planning guidance, reflect current community goals and priorities, integrate sea level rise adaptation planning considerations and current hazard mitigation planning, ensure consistency with the City’s certified Housing Element, address new State laws enacted since preparation of the 2003 General Plan/Coastal Land Use Plan, and modernize the document for accessibility and readability. The proposed Project consists of the adoption and implementation of the updated CLUP/GP, which will guide development and activity toward the City’s vision of high quality of life, small beach town character, and natural resource preservation through the identification of issue areas, objectives, policies, and implementation measures over the next 20 years or more. The Zoning Code would also be amended to ensure consistency with the CLUP/GP.
