Reasons for Exemption
The Planning Division has determined that, as proposed, the project is categorically exempt from the requirements of CEQA. The project qualifies as categorically exempt pursuant to Section 15332 – Infill Development, which consists of projects characterized as infill development within urbanized areas that are environmentally benign and consistent with the City's General Plan and Zoning Code. Being a proposed infill residential development in a built-out, suburban environment with no interface with nature, it can therefore be seen with certainty that there does not have significant values for wildlife habitat or other environmental purposes and would qualify for a categorical exemption pursuant to Section 15332 – Infill Development Projects.
