Document Description
Construction of a decomposed granite (DG) pedestrian walkway along the existing south parkway of La Costa Ave, and restripe the existing AC road to accommodate buffered bike lanes from N Vulcan Ave to the I-5 freeway. The construction of new ADA compliant curb ramps, removal of existing private improvements encroaching into the public right-of-way, driveway apron replacements, utilities adjustments, and construction of retaining walls as necessary will take place.

the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15301 (c) of the CEQA Guidelines. This exempts alterations to existing streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities, and other alterations such as the addition of bicycle facilities, improvements such as, pedestrian crossings, street trees, and other similar alterations that do not create additional automobile lanes. The project is consistent with this exemption. Exceptions prescribed under Section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines do not apply and no historic resources are affected by the proposed project.
