Document Description
The project will replace the existing Canyon Subdivision Milepost 315.18 Bridge, which consists of a 134-foot-long, 48-inch-diameter corrugated metal pipe culvert. The existing bridge must be replaced because UPRR inspections have identified corrosion and other defects indicating that routine maintenance can no longer extend the safe operational condition of the bridge. The existing structure will be replaced with a 135-foot-long, 48-inch-diameter smooth steel pipe culvert that will be horizontally auger bored (jack and bored) through the existing railroad embankment approximately 6.5 feet west of and parallel to the existing culvert. Following construction of the replacement culvert, the existing culvert will be grouted and abandoned in place.
