Document Description
Metro proposes the East Wall Digital Signage Project that consists of the temporary installation of one interior LED video display system within the historic Waiting Room at LAUS, mounted above the existing Arrival and Departure boards. The LED display would be installed in advance of the 2026 FIFA World Cup to support event operations, wayfinding, public messaging, and fan engagement. The installation would be temporary and is anticipated to remain in place for approximately three months, after which, the system and truss would be removed. No permanent structural modifications to the building are proposed and all work would occur within a Metro-owned facility.

Class 11, Section 15311
Reasons for Exemption
The Project proposes to temporarily mount an LED video display system in the Waiting Room of the existing LAUS facility for the FIFA Fan Zone site to support event operations, wayfinding, public messaging, and fan engagement. The sign would be promptly removed following the conclusion of the World Cup games. Because the Project involves the temporary placement of minor on-premise signage within an existing Metro-owned public facility and would not involve expansion of existing or former use beyond that, the Project qualifies for a Class 11 categorical exemption pursuant to CEQA.
