Document Description
The Project includes the expansion of an existing electrical substation to support new distribution circuits to serve Anaheim customers with reliable service and meet future load growth. The Project will also facilitate improved operational flexibility of the electric system to reduce the duration of power outages by enabling the re-routing of power during emergencies. The existing substation is located at APU’s warehouse and field crew facility on Vermont Avenue and the expansion will be within the existing facility boundaries.

Reasons for Exemption
The Anaheim City Council determined that the Project is categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines sections 15301(b), 15302(c), 15303(d)-(e), 15304, and 15332, and further determined that none of the exceptions to the categorical exemptions set forth in CEQA Guidelines § 15300.2 apply. The Project will include installing additional equipment and conducting renovations on the existing electrical substation facility. These activities do not have the potential to create a significant impact on the environment.
