Document Description
The project includes installation of a new stationary natural gas-powered emergency generator and automatic transfer switch at the existing well site. The new equipment would be installed on concrete pads, and conduit/conductors would be installed to allow the generator to automatically provide backup power when utility power is unavailable. Additionally, a new PG&E natural gas meter, pressure regulator, and gas pipeline would be installed to connect the well site to PG&E’s existing gas utility infrastructure. Electrical conduit would be installed from the new emergency generator to the existing well building located ~100 feet south of the generator site. Minor earth disturbance would occur to complete the improvements.

Notice of Exemption
Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 3, California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3, §15303
Reasons for Exemption
Class 3 covers the installation of new piping and the installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures. The project is consistent with this categorical exemption noted above because work would consist of installation of an emergency backup generator and appurtenances to provide backup power to the existing well to the south. The project would not have a significant effect on the environment due to unusual circumstances; would not result in damage to scenic resources within a Scenic Highway; is not located on a hazardous waste site pursuant to §65962.5 of the Government Code; would not cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource; and would not result in cumulative impacts.
