Document Description
The proposed project aims to use maintenance dredging in a targeted way: to physically remove the cyanobacteria stock resting in sediment before they rise into the water and form blooms. By dredging approximately 55,000 cubic yards of sediment from the Stockton Waterfront, where the highest concentrations of cyanobacteria and nutrients have been found, researchers expect to reduce the intensity of future blooms and improve water quality.
