Document Description
Project includes removing four wood pilings and driving five metal pilings. Remove existing suspended platform and gangway. Adjacent to existing pier/deck structure, construct 3.5x4 ft landing, 3x30 ft gangway, 10x20 ft suspended platform. Construction is anticipated to occur over a single five-day work week from mobilization to completion. Construction will occur during normal daytime working hours. Demolition activities, including mobilization and removal of the existing platform and pilings, will be completed in one day. Pile driving activities will be completed in one day, with all lakebed disturbance concluded within two working days. Installation of the steel frames for the swim platform and gangway will occur on day three, followed by finish work over one to two additional days. All remaining work after pile installation will occur above the waterline. Equipment used will include a barge with pile driving equipment, hand tools, and light construction equipment appropriate for overwater construction. The project will involve a small crew, anticipated to be fewer than 4 workers on site at any given time. Emergent vegetation (tules) is present within the general vicinity of the shoreline; however, the tulcs are not located within or immediately adjacent to the proposed work area. Based on the site layout and construction methods, tules will not be disturbed, removed, or impacted by the project as they are located mostly on the property to the West of the project parcel. No tree removal or grading of upland areas is proposed. The project area is limited to previously developed overwater and near shore locations, and no sensitive habitats or water resources beyond the existing lake environment will be affected. Project connects to existing seawall. At 18 ft from seawall, lakebed depth is 2.9 ft Rumsey and at 7 ft from lakeward extent of existing structure, lakebed depth is approx. -12.5 ft Rumsey. Lakebed has a moderate and then steep lakeward slope.
