Document Description
The project will add four (4) Ion Exchange (IX) Adsorption Vessels to an existing water well operated by the City of Arcadia to provide potable water to the city’s residents. This treatment system will allow for the restoration of 23% of the City’s water supply to its approximately 57,000 customers. Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) have been detected in this well. The installation of the IX Adsorption Vessels will remove PFAS from the extracted water to non-detectable levels. Upon initial installation, the system will require backwashing to prepare the vessels for operation. All wastewater generated during this process will be stored in a backwash tank and then discharged into the existing sewer system.
