Document Description
The East Kaweah Groundwater Sustainability Agency (EKGSA) proposes to install one monitoring well just northwest of 5th Avenue in unincorporated Tulare County, to assist in the monitoring network established by the EKGSA through the groundwater sustainability planning effort required by the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act. The well would be speci?cally used to monitor groundwater levels and water quality in the area, and would not require the use of any power.

Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Article 19 Categorical Exemptions, Section 15303 states that "construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures..." are exempt from CEQA. The proposed Project is needed for information collection and gathering to assist with the groundwater sustainability efforts throughout the State. The Project would include the installation of one monitoring well and ground disturbance would be minimal. No exceptions were identi?ed. Therefore, the Project is exempt under CEQA.
