Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 consists of the repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public facilities and mechanical equipment, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use, including the addition of safety protection devices on existing structures and navigational devices. Implementation of the project will add reflective yellow borders on existing traffic signal heads to provide enhanced signal visibility resulting in no expansion of existing or former use. Therefore, the project is exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
