Document Description
Caltrans approves the encroachment permit proposed by the Department of Toxic Substances Control for 8 locations, to be soil-sampled using a 3-inch-diameter hand auger, and to go no more than 18 inches below ground surface. Samples will be collected in unpaved areas (dirt/parkways). Of the 8 locations, 4 have associated addresses, as follows: 436 W. Walnut St, Carson; 17301 S. Figueroa St, Los Angeles; 17324 S. Broadway St, Carson; 17306 S. Broadway St, Carson. The other 4 locations are as follows: Two are near the 91 off-ramps at S. Main Street. One location is near the 91 East Ramp to 110 S. Another is between the 91 East and 91 West Ramps to the 110 South. Postmile locations are as follows: LA 91 R6.561, LA 91 R6.495, LA 91 R6.729, LA 91 R6.731, LA 91 R6.906, LA 91 R6.901, LA 91 6.255, and LA 91 6.27, in the City of Carson, County of Los Angeles. Excavation will have a maximum depth of 18 inches, an average width of 3 inches, and a maximum length of 1 foot. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project.
