Document Description
This single-family residence was constructed in 1980. To improve health and safety, Habitat for Humanity will replace the windows and roof at the property.
Window Replacement - Habitat for Humanity will replace a total of nine windows. The existing windows are single-pane, and one of the upstairs windows is leaking water into the home. The windows will be replaced with white vinyl retrofit windows. The existing windows will be removed, and the openings will be prepared to accommodate the new retrofit units. All windows will be sealed, caulked, and insulated with foam, and new interior trim will be installed and painted white.
Roof Replacement - Habitat for Humanity will replace the roof. The home measures approximately 1,600 square feet. The project includes a full roof tear-off of up to three existing layers, including removal of underlayment, drip edge, roof jacks, and air vents. Up to 15% of damaged plywood or plank lumber (1x4, 1x6, or 1x8) will be repaired or replaced as needed. Any deck repair exceeding 15% will require an approved change order. All removed roofing materials will be hauled away and a
thorough site cleanup will be completed at the end of the project. Roof installation will include approximately 1,600 sq. ft. of underlayment, 214 linear feet of drip edge, replacement and sealing of roof jacks, installation of approximately 1,449 sq. ft. of Owens Corning cool roof composite shingles (or equivalent) with 145 linear feet of ridge caps in compliance with California Title 24 requirements, and painting of roof components and exposed lumber to match the existing roof and trim.
