Document Description
The purpose of this project is to relocate the failed water line serving Trailer Pad #1 at Benicia State Recreation Area to a new alignment around the exterior of the park-owned garage to restore reliable water service. Work will:
Use hand tools and equipment to saw-cut and remove approximately 40 feet of asphalt.
Excavate and remove up to 40 feet of corroded pipe.
Use small trenching equipment to dig approximately 108 feet in length of trenching to an estimated depth of approximately 18–24 inches.
Use hand tools to install new corrosion-resistant water piping and reconnect the new line to the existing water system at both ends.
Backfill trenches with excavated materials.
Install approximately 40 feet of asphalt into the same footprint as the previously removed asphalt, restoring to existing grade and condition.
Dispose of any removed defunct pipe and removed asphalt.

Project consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels, included as “Utility repairs or minor upgrades”, in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; and minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
