Document Description
The project includes the replacement of the Science (Old Math/Science/Engineering - Bldg 19 - 58,140 GSF), Faculty Office A (Bldg 17 - 5,841 GSF) and Language Arts (Bldg 26 - 18,445) buildings. The three buildings proposed for replacement were constructed in the early 1970s and have not undergone major renovations since their original construction. The facilities currently support instruction in language arts,
mathematics, science, and faculty office functions. The buildings are outdated and do not meet current instructional, accessibility, or safety standards. Existing conditions include aging mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; inadequate lighting and ventilation; non-compliant ADA access; and insufficient space for modern instructional needs. The new 79,000 GSF building will provide lecture classrooms, laboratories, offices (primarily faculty), campus study/tutorial space, shared meeting rooms and shared support spaces for students and faculty.
