The Tulare County Board of Supervisors has received a request (PAD 26-001) for the diminishment of Agricultural Preserve No. 293, consisting of three (3) parcels totaling 279.73-acres owned by Jeffrey B Ritchie Family Limited Partnership. A Notice of Nonrenewal (WAN 21-013) was filed and was approved by the Tulare County Board of Supervisors on August 2, 2022, by Resolution No. 2022-0677. Tentative Cancellation (WAC 22-002) was approved by the Tulare County Board of Supervisors on November 29, 2022, by Resolution No. 2022-1005. The beneficiaries of the project will be the citizens of Tulare County and City of Visalia.

This action is consistent with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines, pursuant to Title 14, Cal. Code Regulations, Section 15305, Class 5, Minor Alterations to Land Use Limitations. The basis for the exemption is that the proposed project will not result in any changes to land use or density. Therefore, the Lead Agency finds that the application of CEQA Section 15305 is applicable and appropriate for this Project.
