Document Description
The Shasta Valley Resource Conservation District (SVRCD) proposes to install, upgrade, and operate stream gaging equipment at one location within the Shasta River Watershed to collect continuous streamflow data.
Project activities include installation or upgrading of pressure transducers, staff plates, mounting hardware, and telemetry equipment. Stream gages will be installed at existing bridge crossings or previously disturbed stream margins. Where applicable, gages will be tied into existing or newly installed telemetry systems to transmit real-time streamflow data.
The project involves minor, temporary, and localized ground disturbance for the purpose of information collection. No channel modification, flow alteration, or removal of healthy, mature vegetation is proposed. All data collected through this project will be made publicly available in accordance with California Stream Gaging Improvement Program (CalSIP) and California Department of Water Resources requirements.
